Information regarding Fidel API transactions
Authorisation ( Auth ) transactions occur as soon as a customer makes a purchase. Auth transactions generally take between 0.01 seconds and 2 minutes to appear in the Fidel dashboard.
Currently Auth transactions are supported and enabled on Mastercard, Visa and American Express. For a newly enrolled card it can take up to 24 hours for Auth transactions to appear using the Fidel API.
Auth transactions are displayed on the Fidel dashboard with an amber signal - meaning they are still due to clear.
Clearing Transactions are settled transactions. Clearing transactions can take up to 72 hours to appear on the Fidel dashboard.
Every transaction will appear in clearing and therefore on the Fidel dashboard. Not every merchant is avaliable to recieve Auth transactions (real time processing). This can depend on the merchants acquirer and also their merchants transaction process.
Some merchants will batch their transactions up over the course of a day before sending them to the card schemes. This means that some transactions will not reflect the actual time of the transaction on the Fidel dashboard. This is an important consideration for time based loyalty programmes.
Fortunately, the Fidel API is able to spot returned transactions . These appear in the dashboard with a negative number assigned to them.
